Living in California is all about the beach. Residents may prefer to lay out on the warm sands and soak up the sun, but it’s the activities that make La Jolla special — specifically La Jolla Village. Tucked away as a small, beach nook, La Jolla Village benefits from a quiet beachfront and local sea caves, which makes it perfect for kayakers and divers. Visibility can sometimes reach up to 30 feet on calm days, providing beautiful views for divers and snorkelers as they explore the underwater sea reefs. Most times, they can spot orange Garibaldi fish, yellow tails, and leopard sharks.
Since La Jolla Village is a ecologically protected beach, surfboards and other flotation devices are not allowed. However, kayakers can paddle around the point of the cove and take a look inside sea caves. For those looking to enjoy a nice day along the beach, but not touch the water, you can visit Scripps Park right above the La Jolla Cove. It offers a grassy open space for picnics and stunning view of the coast.
